Silver Oaks is situated just minutes from Traverse City, named Food City of the Year by Midwest Living. Award-winning restaurants, wine bars, boutique shopping, and some of Michigan's most celebrated wineries along Old Mission and Leelanau Peninsula are all within easy reach.
For out-of-town guests, the proximity to Traverse City means the wedding weekend extends well beyond the estate. It is a destination worth arriving early for and leaving late from.

Can Silver Oaks host a wedding ceremony or reception?
Silver Oaks Resort is an accommodations-only property. Weddings, ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, and other hosted events are not permitted on-site. It is, however, an exceptional home base for the wedding party and families during a celebration held at a nearby venue. Many of our wedding weekend guests find that it becomes the most memorable part of the weekend.
How many guests can stay at Silver Oaks for a wedding weekend?
Silver Oaks accommodates up to 38 overnight guests across five cottages. For smaller wedding parties, individual cottages can be booked separately. For larger groups, the full resort buyout ensures the entire property is exclusively yours.
Which cottage is best for the wedding party getting ready?
Cottage Four is our most popular choice for wedding party preparation. At 1,071 sq ft with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large open living area, and generous natural light, it is suited for exactly this kind of morning.
How far in advance should we book?
Wedding weekends, particularly in summer and early fall, book well in advance. We recommend reaching out as early as possible and beginning partner coordination at the time of booking. Many of our preferred providers, including private chefs and concierge services, fill their calendars a year or more ahead.
Can Silver Oaks accommodate guests with mobility needs?
Cottage Four features an accessible-friendly bathroom with grab bars and a walk-in shower for ease of use. While the cottage is not fully ADA-compliant, it is thoughtfully designed with mobility in mind.
Is the full resort available for exclusive buyout during a wedding weekend?
Yes. The full resort buyout is one of the most popular options for wedding weekends, ensuring the entire property is exclusively reserved for your group from arrival through departure.
Can we request early check-in or late check-out?
Wedding weekends don't always follow a standard schedule. Whenever availability allows, we're happy to accommodate early check-in and late check-out requests to give your group additional time to prepare, relax, and enjoy the property.
